Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumaré is unlikely to get a permanent move to Sevilla in the summer, as they don?t have the money to buy him.
That?s according to AS, who cover the player today and how despite him being an ?undisputed starter?, the finances aren?t there to sign him.
The newspaper explains that while several other loan players at the Spanish side have been left frustrated this season, Soumaré is not one of them. Initially he had struggled to get into the team but convinced several managers and is now an undisputed starter in the first team.
He appears to be the obvious replacement for Brazilian midfielder Fernando in the team moving forwards and the Spanish side have an option to sign him on a permanent basis, having negotiated a purchase clause with Leicester last summer. The problem is that Sevilla simply don?t have the money to pay that clause. Indeed, it is ?difficult? for them to do any business.
According to AS, director of football Victor Orta is facing a complex transfer market next summer as there is a hole of almost ?30m in the budget already.
That will need to be filled and so ?the most normal thing? at this moment in time is that Soumaré will return to Leicester at the end of the season.
Perhaps the two clubs can work out a deal in some form, but for now it seems the belief is that Soumaré won?t be staying at Sevilla permanently.
