‘One of our worst managers’ – Spurs legend hits back at Jose Mourinho for recent comments
Graham Roberts has hit back at Jose Mourinho after the former Tottenham head coach took a dig at his former employers for their decision to sack him days before a cup final.
While the timing of Tottenham’s decision to part ways with Mourinho and put Ryan Mason in charge came as a surprise to many since it was made just days before the Carabao Cup final, the decision itself was far from shocking as the Portuguese coach was struggling to get a tune out of the side.
Mourinho had lost much of the fan base at the time and it was reported that he also barely had any support left in the Spurs dressing room (The Athletic).
A couple of days ago, the AS Roma boss took a dig at his former employers and their lack of recent silverware.
The 60-year-old said on the One Obi Podcast about Tottenham’s decision to sack him: This was a club that, has an empty trophy room, then sacks me two days before a final, I mean? come on.” Tottenham Hotspur FC via Getty Image

This did not sit well with Roberts, with the Spurs legend pointing out that the club have won plenty of silverware in their history.
The former Tottenham captain also opined that the Portuguese coach was one of the worst managers the club have had, given his negative tactics and his constant moaning in the press.
