Away draw at Ipswich denies Villa and Emery top spot.

We haven’t been accustomed to feeling disappointed lately. We’ve been spoiled, after all. However, there is a sense that this result might come back to bite us later in the domestic calendar. Despite trailing to an early goal, Villa levelled through Rogers and got in front courtesy of a Watkins header just after the half-hour mark. Uncharacteristically Emery’s side surrendered this advantage and with it the prospect of any away win that would have sent Villa top.

Carlos got his angle & speed of approach all wrong here. Look at how he is leaning backwards whilst retreating into the box. All his weight is going one way. And Delap goes the other.
