Ugly scenes and a dramatic ending Atlético Madrid secured a dramatic late 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the end of a tense Madrid derby which included a 15-minute suspension due to fan behaviour in the stands.
Éder Militão opened the deadlock with a volley from a set piece, but Thibaut Courtois? celebrations sparked anger among the home fans behind the south stand goal who threw items in his direction and earned a suspension of the game. In the end, the game began again and Ángel Correa came off the bench to fire a winner across the line with pure determination late in injury time, allowing time only for Marcos Llorente to see a straight red card for a late tackle on Dani Carvajal. It seems to happen two or three times a season in recent years that the Frente Atlético give us a reason to once again argue for them to be expelled and banned from the stadium and supporting Atlético Madrid.
