Takeaways from Atlético Madrid?s 3-1 comeback win over Leganés

Atleti had a second half fightback at home Atlético Madrid had to come back from behind to win against Leganés at the Estadio Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Sunday afternoon, winning 3-1 courtesy of a second-half display which made up for a dreadful first hour of action.
Yvan Neyou scored with a powerful finish from the left of Atleti?s defence into the roof of the net to give Leganés the lead on 34 minutes, and Atleti couldn?t equalise until Axel Witsel cut back in a goalmouth scramble following a corner for Alexander Sørloth to equalise on 69 minutes. 12 minutes later, Giuliano Simeone bust a gut to keep the ball in play and set up Antoine Griezmann to put Atleti in front, with Sørloth then scoring a late third goal deep in injury time. The worst 3-1 win in history
The scoreline here flatters an Atlético Madrid side who were below par throughout the full 90 minutes and would have struggled to mount such a comeback against a team of higher quality than Leganés. The Pepineros had only been in the winning position of a game for a total of 8 minutes since August, and having to defend a 1-0 lead after scoring on 34 minutes proved to be too much for them, as much as it was down to Atleti?s improvements in the second half.
