A painful end to the year! Ilkay Gundogan has ended 2023 with a head injury that has left the Barcelona midfielder needing stitches.
The Germany international reportedly cut his head in an accident in the gym at the Ciutat Esportiva after the team?s open training session on Friday.
Mundo Deportivo report that Gundogan was left bleeding and eventually ended up going to hospital to have the injury checked out.
Barcelona?s summer signing ended up having a few stitches inserted, with wife Sara showing off the damage to her husband?s head in a post on social media.

The injury may be a painful one for Gundogan but it?s not expected to keep him out of action. The German star is expected to be fit in time for Barcelona?s first game of 2024 against Las Palmas in La Liga.
Barcelona head into the game hoping to get back on track after a disappointing end to the year that has left the team seven points behind leaders Real Madrid after 18 games.
