The Bayern Munich head coach?s measured demeanor isn?t working right now. Bayern Munich?s five-game winning streak against Barcelona is over, as Bayern suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Bayern hadn?t conceded four goals in regulation of a Champions League match since a demoralizing 4-0 semifinal loss in 2014 against Real Madrid.
After winning the first seven matches of the season, Bayern has only won once in the last five outings. The opposition?s talent level has elevated significantly and Bayern has failed to answer in kind.
?We lost and it?s a clear defeat,? Vincent Kompany said afterwards (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). ?Now is not the time to make a big analysis immediately. We?ll sit together, analyze the game and then move on. The first half, the first 30 minutes, except their early goal, I felt that we could win the game. But then the game changed with the second and third goal. We?ll analyze, learn from this and improve. This defeat is not decisive for the season.
