Match Preview: BVB Look to Return to Winning Ways Against Augsburg

Dortmund need to show something after the collapse earlier in the week. Heading into Round 8 of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season, Borussia Dortmund sit in seventh place, already four points off the top of the table, and well in need of a win to build some confidence. They head to Bavaria to face Augsburg on Saturday, where any less than three points will be unacceptable.
Augsburg are currently 15th, just above the relegation zone, though perhaps a little unlucky to be so low down the table. Fuggerstädter have only claimed two wins in the Bundesliga this season, against St. Pauli and Borussia Mönchengladbach, and they have been on the wrong end of several heavy defeats already. They have been much stronger at home, so Dortmund should not expect a walkover. Still, if BVB are to make anything of their season, these are the games that they have to win. Predicted Starting XI

I expect the team to look somewhat similar to the starting lineup in the last few games, with minor changes. I think Waldemar Anton will come in for Niklas Süle, and Pascal Groß will come in for Sabitzer. Let?s hope we see something that looks a little more like the first half of that Real Madrid game than the second half...
