Borussia Dortmund continued their perfect start to the Champions League campaign on Tuesday night, grinding Celtic into a fine, gristly paste and claiming all three points in a 7-1 win at the Westfalenstadion. An early penalty, converted by Emre Can, got the ball rolling for Dortmund, but Celtic fired back immediately through Japan international Daizen Maeda. From there on out, however, BVB went into overdrive, scoring six unanswered goals, with Karim Adeyemi bagging a hattrick, Serhou Guirassy adding two more to his fast-growing Dortmund collection, and Felix Nmecha finishing off the rout with 10 minutes left in the game.
For a team to score seven goals, both sides have to do their part, and while Borussia Dortmund dominated the team in front of them, Celtic were abysmal. It?s a little difficult to gauge what this performance means in the long run, because Celtic were so bad. This shouldn?t detract from Dortmund?s best performance so far this season, but when the opponents are this poor, it?s hard to know how much to take from it. Regardless, a 7-1 win is still thoroughly enjoyable, and another three points in the Champions League is always good news!
Here are our ratings from Dortmund?s thumping 7-1 win over Celtic:

Almost nothing to do, but his one goal-line snag on a wickedly spinning ball was extremely well read.
