Everything still is as it has always been. Union Berlin?s Stadion An der Alten Försterei is no easy place for anyone to play. Nuri Sahin said that much in his press conference before Saturday?s match, but maybe he bought a little too much into his own statement. It very much felt like Borussia Dortmund were missing the extra gear in attack in Berlin, which meant that some incidents of sloppy defending and a little bit of luck was enough for Union Berlin to take all three points. BVB started out nervy, which showed after 17 minutes, after Schlotterbeck was given a yellow card for clinging onto Benedict Hollerbach?s arm on the breakaway. Some would say that Schlotterbeck should have cleared this ball better as well, but I think it?s a stretch to blame him after that goal, which was more a result of a string of unfortunate events out of anyone?s control.
In the 2nd half, Dortmund managed to keep the ball in their ranks a bit better, and after 62 minutes, Julian Brandt found Julian Ryerson on the right side, who made a lovely cut inside and curled the ball into the far low...
