It took until they were 2-0 down, but Dortmund showed some much-needed fight to claim all three points tonight. If you were hoping that a Friday night home game against struggling VfL Bochum would be an opportunity for Borussia Dortmund to steady the ship after their 5-1 loss to VfB Stuttgart at the weekend, the first half hour of tonight?s game would have come as quite the shock. Instead, it looked like BVB had picked up where they left off on Sunday, with two early Bochum goals giving Nuri ?ahin?s side a big hole to try and dig themselves out of.
BVB looked highly unlikely to turn the game around at 2-0, but that?s precisely what they did, with a four-goal comeback mounted by Serhou Guirassy just before halftime. Die Schwarzgelben came out after the break looking like a completely different side, piling the pressure on Bochum from the off. They got the equalizer just after the hour when Emre Can converted a penalty won by Guirassy, and by this point, it seemed like only a matter of time until they would take the lead. Sure enough, Dortmund?s third came just over ten minutes later, when Guirassy scored his second of the night, and shortly after, substitute Felix Nmecha made sure of all three points with a speculative shot that got a little help from Bochum?s goalkeeper, Patrick Drewes. It was once again a far-from-convincing performance by BVB. You cannot concede two goals within 30 minutes agains...
