Clarets recall Dodgson from Barnsley

Owen Dodgson?s season long loan to League One club Barnsley has been ended today by the Clarets who have recalled the left-back.
Dodgson, who had been at Rochdale on loan during the second half of the 2022/23 season, joined Barnsley on 1st September, the final day of the summer window which was revealed as a season long loan.
However, Burnley have now recalled him from that loan after the player had played fifteen times for the Tykes including ten League One games of which four were starts.
Barnsley today, confirming the news, thanked the player for all his efforts for them and wished him all the best for the future. In return, Dodgson said: ?I?d like to thank my teammates and the coaching staff for making me feel welcome right from the start. I?d also like to say a huge thanks to the Barnsley fans who backed me and showed their support which as a young player for a club like this is massive. I?m confident the team will continue to do well and I?ll be keeping an eye on how things are going. You Reds.? There is no indication as to what the immediate future might be for Dodgson but potentially another loan for a player whose one first team appearance for Burnley came as a substitute in the FA Cup game against Huddersfield almost two years ago.
