Clarets secure Premier League Cup win

Burnley made it two wins out of two in the Premier League Cup yesterday with a 2-0 home win against Brighton with the game played on the Turf.
A Tom Tweedy goal midway through the first half and an own goal just past the hour was enough for the under-21s to claim all three points and so deservedly so after arguably our best performance of the season.
It was a little chaotic before the game. Season cards weren?t working at the turnstiles which left a member of the ticket staff to hand out paper tickets to everyone, and once inside they?d closed off all but one block with access to that block only from one side.
We got in just in time to see the end of the warm up which saw coach Jack Cork receive the biggest cheer of the day. It wasn?t quite the reception he received at the end of last season but his response showed just how much it was appreciated. Just as the teams were about to come out, the heavens opened, and not for the only time during the afternoon, so any late comers would have got a drenching outside.
Andy Farrell had made five changes to the team that had won at Peterborough. Given the recent game schedule, the rotation has been important and, of course, necessary in development football. Brighton too made changes to the team that had beaten Crystal Palace 10-0 in their previous game. Solly March, on his way back from injury, played in that game.
