Football returns with a visit to Yorkshire

We returned to the Championship after the first international break with a trip to Leeds and tomorrow our first game following the second break is just that bit further into white rose territory at Sheffield Wednesday.
It?s a while since we were at Hillsborough; the last visit was back in February 2016 when a 1-1 draw extended our unbeaten league run to six games. Since, we?ve been in the Premier League and they have spent time in League One before their return to the Championship              in 2023.
There has been much said about our form in the last few games. We?ve still been beaten just once, and that at Sunderland when we were somewhat stretched, but the goals have dried up. Only once since the opening two games have we scored more than one in a game, that against Portsmouth at home, and with just one penalty in the three games since at Oxford and at home against Plymouth and Preston. If the football hasn?t been free flowing, and I think we can all agree on that, we do, overall, sit with two points per game. That sees us in fourth place where we trail both Sunderland, Leeds and Sheffield United by one point although Sheffield United would now sit top had they not had points deducted. By the time we kick off tomorrow, we could have dropped as low as fifth depending on the results in tomorrow?s early kick offs.
The injury problems that have beset us have presented other players with opportunities and one such player is CJ Egan-Riley who had hardly kicked...
