Home again Clarets to take on QPR

Tomorrow’s game against QPR is the only one at home in a run of five league games, following trips to Sheffield Wednesday and Hull and before we go back on the road to Millwall and West Brom.
Although there was a lot of disappointment in Wednesday?s performance at Hull, we do return home having picked up four points from two away games but we do now need a home win to set us up for the next two away games.
We?ve had some problems in recent home games in terms of breaking teams down, teams in the bottom half of the table who have set their stall out to try and win a point. Ultimately, Preston succeeded and while we did beat Portsmouth and Plymouth, it did take a late goal in one and a penalty in the other to help us through to three points. I wrote in my Hull report that the positive is being in second place when we apparently aren?t playing well. I stand by my belief that there is much more to come from this team but also that if that more doesn?t come then we will drop down the league. If it does come then we are without doubt going to be right up there throughout the season.
But going into tomorrow?s game with 22 points, could we have asked for or expected more when we were setting off for Luton in August" I doubt it and we are now seeing what looks to be a much more united squad than the one that was clearly falling apart last season.
