Northants ref Whitestone at Hull

Burnley?s game at Hull tonight will be refereed by Northamptonshire official Dean Whitestone in what will be his twelfth Burnley game.
The first of those games was the home 2-2 draw against Watford back in the 2007/08 season when he had something of a nightmare on an afternoon when Aidy Boothroyd?s team engaged in all the dark arts of the game.
Embed from Getty ImagesEvery one of his Burnley games have been in the Championship, the most recent of them towards the end of the 2022/23 season when he refereed our home game against QPR. Those games have given him a RATE THE REF rating of just 55.57 out of a hundred.
He?s a very experienced referee of just over nineteen years in the Football League, his first game coming between Notts County and Carlisle in October 2005, and in the following September, with Luton?s 2-1 win at Barnsley, he refereed for the first time in the Championship. Now a Select Group 2 official, five of his eight games this season have been in the Championship alongside two League One games and one in the League Cup. There have been 32 yellow cards in those games with seventeen of them going to home team players and fifteen to away team players.
His most recent game came last Saturday when he refereed Huddersfield?s 3-1 League One home win against Bristol Rovers. Huddersfield had Nigel Lonwijk yellow carded alongside Bristol Rovers pair Jamie Lindsay and Ruel Sotiriou.
