Under 21’s keep on winning

Tom Tweedy and Tommy McDermott both scored their second league goal of the season on Tuesday as the under-21s won 2-0 at Wigan. It was a fifth successive win of the season and an eighth in nine games with seven of those wins coming in the league.
It means the week has ended with us in second place. We are some five points behind Sheffield United who were without a game and they have played two games less. Hull are the closest behind us with two points less but they do have two games in hand.
Hull were also winners. They beat Peterborough 4-1 with Tyrell Sellars-Fleming scoring two of their goals. Crewe also scored four, winning 4-2 against Birmingham and their first three goals were scored by Jordan Hodkin. Fleetwood were the other winners, their victory at Coventry moved them into fourth place in the table. Charlton, who set off like a house on fire at the start of the season, were beaten again in the south group, this time by Millwall. With only three games played, they remain four points clear of second place Cardiff who didn?t play.
The other two games played in the south were last night, games which saw Brentford win at Ipswich and Swansea draw with Bournemouth.
There are six north group games in the coming week with Sheffield United playing twice at Barnsley today and then at home against Crewe next Tuesday. That?s when we play against Coventry; a first home league game of the season to be played at the Turf.
We could go into that game in third place. All will depend ...
