Youths lose top spot

The under-18s went into last Saturday?s away game against Sheffield United with a two point lead over their opponents at the top of the league, but it was Sheffield United who won the game 1-0 with an early goal to move ahead of us in the north group of the Professional Development League.
It was just our second defeat of the season in nine league games but we now sit a point behind the unbeaten leaders who also have a game in hand.
As top travelled to South Yorkshire to play second, so third place Birmingham did the same to face fourth in the table Sheffield Wednesday with Sheffield coming out on top again, Wednesday winning the game 3-0 to move into third place.
Coventry were the only other winners in the north; they won at Coventry while the other two games ended 1-1. Fleetwood, who were again without a game, started the week four points adrift at the bottom. That?s now been extended to six but they have three game in hand on the three teams closest to them. Bristol City led the south group on alphabetical order from Cardiff and had the opportunity to take advantage of Cardiff being without a game as they travelled to QPR who had conceded 31 goals in their eight games although the West London club had only conceded six goals in the previous three games having been beaten 8-0 and 6-0 by Burnley and Peterborough in the two games before that. Bristol City couldn?t quite match our score, but they did win 7-0 with Harry Hogg helping himself to a hat trick.
