Cole Palmer’s celebration after scoring for Chelsea at Luton was a tribute to his friend and Middlesbrough striker Morgan Rogers, he revealed after the match.

The Blues beat the Hatters 3-2 at Kenilworth Road, with Palmer netting twice, either side of a Noni Madueke goal.

Those three goals put the visitors 3-0 ahead before the home side made it very nervy for the Blues at the death, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men got over the line.

Palmer was the star of the show with his two efforts and showed off a goal celebration which saw him rub his arms as if he was feeling a bit chilly.

Asked about it after the contest, Palmer told TNT Sports that his pal Rogers had used the celebration after scoring for Boro recently and he told him he would do the same when he next got a chance.
‘My boy Morgz did one for Middlesbrough, so I told him I’d do it,’ said the England international.

Rogers and Palmer spent time together at the Manchester City academy before they both left for their current clubs on permanent moves over the summer.
