Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone has hit back at striker Samu Omorodion as his failed move to Chelsea continues to cause drama.

Omorodion was set to join Chelsea in the summer transfer window as part of the deal with Atlético for Conor Gallagher.
The Blues eventually pulled out of the move after being concerned with issues found during Omorodion?s medical. They eventually sold Gallagher in a separate deal and Omorodion joined Porto.
He?s been shining at the Portuguese club ever since and not passed up opportunities to criticise his old club, making various comments during the international break.
He has been keen to make it seem as if Atlético forced him out of the club so they could sign Julian Alvarez from Manchester City when he became available. Atlético have rallied against that, pointing out that the striker was determined to join Chelsea before that collapsed and never wanted to stay.
That?s a line Simeone has continued to push, insisting Omorodion never wanted to stay with the Spanish club.
“We try to be fair in the search for the best for the club and the best for the team, but he knows very well that back on June 28th he sent a message that, evidently, it was clear that he did not want to be at Atlético Madrid,? he said when asked about the subject.
