AS Roma are firmly in the picture for Everton striker Beto but may face problems with his wage packet if they make a move.
That?s according to the intermediary who brokered his move from Udinese to Everton, who has been spoken to by Ok Calciomercato about the potential transfer for his former client.
Reports this week linked Beto with a return to Italy via Roma, who are looking for someone to add to their squad to support summer signing Artem Dovbyk.
That report came via Leggo, but Il Messaggero add to that, via Calciomercato, reporting that Roma need a better alternative to the Ukrainian striker than Eldor Shomurodov.
He?s a completely different profile to Dovbyk and that?s caused problems when he?s needed to replace him, and Beto would fit the bill on that front. The Everton striker is a ?name to keep an eye on? according to both Leggo and Il Messaggero and the feeling is that his substitute status at Goodison Park could open the door to a transfer.
It also has to be noted that Everton are set to be taken over by the Friedkin Group, who also own Roma, something which Calciomercato argue ?implies the natural creation of a market axis?. In simpler terms, they believe the two clubs will be doing plenty of business between themselves in future and Beto could be the first.
That will take some working out between the various parties and the biggest issue could be wages according to agent Gabriele La Manna.
