It?s been nearly a week since Juventus center back Gleison Bremer went down injured just a couple of minutes into the Bianconeri?s thrilling Champions League win over RB Leipzig. And while we figured it was not going to be any sort of good news, Juve confirmed less than 24 hours later that it was indeed a torn ACL.
Suddenly, Juve faced the reality of their best defender not being around for a while.
Juventus announced Tuesday that Bremer has indeed undergone surgery to repair his torn ACL in his left knee. The surgery, which took place in Lyon, France, was deemed a success by Juve?s medical director, and will be the first step in the big Brazilian?s comeback from the most serious injury he has had to deal with during his career in Italy. Juventus said the rehab process for the 27-year-old Bremer will begin ?in the coming days? as he faces quite the lengthy spell on the sidelines because of it. The brief update on Bremer?s injury is as follows:

Gleison Bremer underwent surgery this morning to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The operation, which was performed at the Hôpital Privé Jean Mermoz in Lyon by Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet in the presence of Juventus? medical director Dr Luca Stefanini, was deemed a success.
The player will begin his rehabilitation process in the coming days, with a view to resuming competitive activity.
