Well this is less than ideal. A player rolling up to J Medical a few days into an international break is usually somethingt that you don?t want to see. Yet, that?s what we got Thursday when Juventus midfielder Teun Koopmeiners stepped out of a Jeep, took a picture or two with a fan and then headed into the club?s fancy medical facility to get his rib injury examined.
So, what?s the final verdict after those examinations"
Juventus announced later in the day Thursday that Koopmeiners has indeed suffered a broken rib and could be on the sidelines, confirming reports from earlier in the week that he was struggling with the injury during last weekend?s draw with Cagliari. Those reports said that Koopmeiners was ?struggling to breathe,? thus leading to Juve manager Thiago Motta taking the 26-year-old Dutchman out at halftime. Motta revealed after last Sunday afternoon?s draw that Koopmeiners was dealing with an injury, but did not go into much detail about what the issue actually was. Teun Koopmeiners, following the persistence of the painful symptoms experienced at the end of the first half of the match against Cagliari, underwent diagnostic examinations this morning at J|Medical that showed the presence of a slightly dislocated fracture of the second right anterior rib.
