I do. I remember downloading the app on a BluRay player that could turn your old, dumb normal TV into a brand new top-of-the-line Smart TV. I remember creating an account and, within minutes, having access to an obscene amount of content for a ridiculously low price.
Are you telling me I can binge Breaking Bad, right now, for as long as I want and I don?t have to buy expensive DVD sets to make it happen" The future is here, baby, and it looks like streaming! Cheaper, better, more modern, what could possibly go wrong. Eat your heart out, cable.
Of course, we know what went wrong. Everyone and their mother developed their own streaming services, everything got expensive ? or more like their actual price once the rush for growth alone stopped ? and now you even get ads to go with it unless you are willing to pay a little extra.
Essentially, we took a whole bunch of extra steps and ?innovations? that led us to the exact same place we started. Cable and hard media in order to avoid losing your favorite movie forever because no streaming service carries it.
