Leicester City have emerged as a new contender to sign Feyenoord star Santiago Giménez this summer.
That?s according to Fox Sports Mexico, who provide updates from journalist Gustavo Mendoza on the Foxes interest.
Steve Cooper currently has Jamie Vardy, 21-year-old Tom Cannon and Patson Daka as the three strikers at Leicester.
Vardy, 37, started and scored in his side?s 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur. Cannon and Daka were restricted to a limited role last season and it?s unlikely their situation will improve this season.
The Premier League side seem to be looking to bolster their attack with Giménez before the window closes next week. According to the journalist, they have already asked about the 23-year-old.
The Mexico international may not favour a move to Leicester considering he wants to join a Champions League club. Nottingham Forest have recently made offers but didn?t meet the Eredivisie side?s asking price. ?Santiago is putting sporting ahead of money.
