Jürgen Klopp left Liverpool at the end of last season and the Merseyside club appointed Arne Slot as the German’s successor.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was not ‘immediately enthusiastic’ about Slot’s arrival at Anfield.
That’s what De Telegraaf journalist Marcel van der Kraan is reporting and he revealed this during their podcast, Kick-off. His comments are relayed by Voetbal Zone.
According to Van der Kraan, the 32-year-old Egypt international wasn’t initially pleased with the demands made by the Dutchman. He revealed about an incident that took place between Salah and the former Feyenoord manager.
“Salah was cursing in the summer about all that Slot wanted from him,” he said.
“?You’re crazy,? Salah said at one point. That was about the intensity Slot demands, what all the strikers have to do in terms of work. I heard this from guys who were at that training camp.”  The De Telegraaf journalist also talked about Darwin Núñez convincing Slot.
“Núñez had been written off by Jürgen Klopp, but the first thing Slot saw: that boy can run. I need that for chasing down opponents. That’s something that Núñez can do wonderfully,” Van der Kraan explained.
“You saw Núñez laying a fantastic ball for Salah [against Arsenal]. Those two strikers Slot has been so busy with in the summer do make sure he plays evenly.”
