“Irreparable loss” – Rúben Amorim to Manchester United upset, expected to take coaches with him
Rúben Amorim arrived at Sporting CP training at around 10am this morning. He’ll be at the club’s base all day, ahead of their Taca da Liga match against Nacional tonight.
Therefore, the press who are primed to follow him around Lisbon are having to show a bit of patience for now.
Earlier today we covered reports from Portugal which stated Manchester United want the manager in charge for their match against Chelsea. That game is on Sunday, so there’s the need to rush.
There’s also been claims in Portugal that three Manchester United officials are travelling to Lisbon, with the plan to seal the deal for Amorim after that match against Nacional tonight.
The media in Portugal are looking for people connected to Sporting to comment on the likely move. Record have managed to get a word with Carlos Pereira, who was previously an assistant manager at the club way before Amorim got there. He’s made clear what a loss it is set to be for the Portuguese club.
