Manchester United will announce a decision on the future of Mason Greenwood before the Premier League season starts.

The Red Devils start their campaign against Wolves in just over two weeks’ time at Old Trafford.

Greenwood has been on suspension since being arrested in January 2022 following the release of photos and videos from a woman.

Charges, including assault and rape, were dropped against Greenwood in February.

Despite that, Greenwood has remained suspended as United conduct their own investigation into the striker.

That investigation is now coming to a close, and United will announce their findings within the next two weeks.

Erik ten Hag has played a part in the investigation, by relaying his thoughts on the situation and on Greenwood himself. He has been unwilling to speak about what he’s said behind closed doors.

United are on the cusp of spending £64m on Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund and Ten Hag has made no secret of his side’s struggles in front of goal.

The Red Devils host Wolves on August 14th, with the two teams the last to play on the first weekend of the season.
