AC Milan look lost and lack conviction under Paulo Fonseca in the opening two games. After the draw on matchday one, most fans expected a positive response but received an unispired performance leading to a 2-1 loss to newly promoted Parma on the road.
The entire team looked lethargic. Players barely tracked back. We were carved open time and time again on the counter. It is a genuine surprise that Parma did not score 3 or 4 goals in the first half. The Serie B champions opened the scoring after just one minute after taking advantage of Davide Calabria?s lack of pace to break down the left wing before allowing Denis Man to scoring an easy shot past Mike Maignan. It is hard to pick out poor performers in such a terrible game but Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Yunus Musah and Davide Calabria are easily the worst of the bunch. Musah should not be starting as he cannot defend and the midfield is always overpowered when he plays. Loftus-Cheek is slow and predictable when trying to drive up the pitch and equally does not track back leaving gaps in the midfield. Calabria should?ve been benched years ago, he is too easily beaten for pace and does not put up a wall allowing too many crosses past.
