Alexander Isak has urged Fantasy Premier League managers to ‘transfer me out’ ahead of Newcastle’s return to Premier League action against Wolves.
The Magpies extended their unbeaten record this season with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham before the international break, with Isak scoring the hosts’ crucial winner at St James’ Park.
The 79th-minute strike from close range was Isak’s first goal of the 2024/25 campaign and the forward will be eager to add to that tally at Molineux on Sunday afternoon.
Isak will look to carry his excellent form with Sweden into the top-flight campaign after two eye-catching performances in the Nations League during the international break.
The attacker found the net in both of Sweden’s matches, completing a quickfire second-half brace away to Azerbaijan before hitting the target against Estonia in Stockholm at the weekend.
Despite his form, though, Isak would rather not be captained by FPL managers for Gameweek 4 as he relishes the added motivation of proving players wrong after they have transferred him out of their respective teams.
Asked if FPL users should give him the armband for Newcastle’s trip to Wolves, a grinning Isak told Fotbollsmorgon: ‘Nope.
‘It?s much better to hear when people have transferred me out and then I score two goals. That?s a much better feeling.’
