Two Premier League clubs plot January move for Newcastle’s Callum Wilson

Newcastle United could well be tempted to cash in on a bid for Callum Wilson in the January transfer window, with Brentford and Fulham interested.
The 32-year-old is yet to feature this season, struggling with back and hamstring problems that he picked up over the summer.
Last season was injury-hit for Wilson as well, making just 20 Premier League appearances, only nine of which came in the starting XI.
He did score nine top flight goals despite a lack of starts, but it was notably down on his impressive tally of 18 in the previous campaign.
Wilson signed a contract extension in 2023 but that deal ends in the summer, so January will be the last chance Newcastle have to pocket a transfer fee for him.
The Sun report that both Brentford and Fulham are interested in making a move for the England international in the next transfer window, rather than wait to try and snap him up for free in the summer.
The Bees sold Ivan Toney in the last transfer window and have been unfortunate with injuries to Igor Thiago and Yoane Wissa, so would like to add some firepower.

Fulham have Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez up front, but Wilson could provide a more reliable goal-scorer, as long as he can remain fit.
