‘One of most beautiful teams’ – From Southampton exit to firing team to unlikely league summit
Ché Adams was one of the players Southampton released at the end of last season. He joined Torino on a free transfer in the summer window.
Prior to that, the Leicester-born Scotland international had spent his entire playing career in England. The striker has starred for the Turin club, scoring two goals and registering two assists from six games.
Former Torino assistant manager Stefano Agresti has analysed the Turin club?s good start to the season in his column for Saturday?s Gazzetta dello Sport. The former Southampton man gets a mention.
Torino are currently leading the table with 11 points, a point ahead of second placed Udinese and third placed Napoli.
Agresti claims Torino?s performances under manager Paolo Vanoli have made them ?one of the most beautiful teams? in the league. Vanoli arrived at the club in June. Agresti insists the new manager’s arrival and Torino?s summer signings have helped them take the top spot.
“And it becomes a sort of emblem of how important it can be, in modern football, to know how to change. With logic and knowledge, without fear,” he said.
