Ajax manager Francesco Farioli has publicly expressed his feelings over missing out on Southampton?s Kamaldeen Sulemana in the summer window.
The Eredivisie side?s official channel, relayed by Algemeen Dagblad, had a chat with the manager to review the club?s transfer business.
Ajax made a late attempt to sign the Southampton player on deadline day of the Dutch window [September 2nd].
Earlier that day, the Amsterdam club sold Steven Bergwijn to Al-Ittihad, and his exit forced them to look for a replacement. They found an agreement with both Southampton and Sulemana to sign him on a loan deal.
Ajax technical director Alex Kroes wasn?t certain whether the paperwork related to the deal was submitted on time. They filed an appeal, but FIFA didn?t approve their request. The deal collapsed, and the 22-year-old will have to stay at Southampton, at least until the end of this year. Farioli reviewed the failed deal to sign the Ghana international and has urged his side to move on from this disappointment.
?That was a bit chaotic and caused some frustration for everyone involved. Now we are at a point where we can cry, or look ahead and look for a solution,? he said.
Sulemana hasn?t made an appearance for Russell Martin?s side this season. He managed three assists from 26 games last season.
