Newcastle eyeing FA Cup glory following ‘special win’ over Sunderland
Newcastle United defender Dan Burn says the club are determined to win something after knocking fierce rivals Sunderland out of the FA Cup.Â
The Magpies dominated the third round tie at the Stadium of Light after Dan Ballard put the ball in his own net in the 35th minute. Alexander Isak went on to score a second-half brace to complete their first win in a Tyne-Wear Derby since 2011.
“It was a special win,” Burn told ITV after the final whistle. “I think there was a lot of build up to the game so to come through with a win and a clean sheet is great.
