The Premier League is a ruthless beast, something Southampton are finding out the hard way after extending their long standing winless run in the top flight.Â
Russell Martin’s men unsurprisingly lost 3-1 to Arsenal this past weekend, although they did take the lead to give their beleaguered supporters a (very) brief hope of getting a positive result.

12 March 2023 to Present (Ongoing) Relegation was Southampton’s fate at the end of the 2022/23 campaign after going 13 games without a win. Weirdly, that run included 3-3 draws with Arsenal and Spurs, and a 4-4 with Liverpool.
They’ve managed just one draw from their opening seven games upon returning to the Premier League, losing the other six. It’s difficult to see from where their next win is going to come.
