Erik ten Hag has fuelled rumours Harry Kane will move to Manchester United this summer, admitting he is desperate to sign a No.9 striker.

United have made contact with the Tottenham superstar’s representatives and are ?encouraged? by talks over a move at the end of the current season.

The Red Devils drew 2-2 at Spurs on Thursday night, where away fans could be heard chanting: ?Harry Kane, we?ll see you in June!?

The England captain has long been tipped to leave his boyhood club this summer with his contract up in 2024.

United are the frontrunners for his signature as Ten Hag looks to sign an elite forward.

‘Everyone knows, it?s not a secret that over the whole season we had a shortage of No.9s,’ Ten Hag said.
‘First we had the dropout of Cristiano Ronaldo, then Antony Martial was often not available, Jadon Sancho was often not available, then you have a shortage of frontline players.

‘With less players we have to cover many games, so definitely we need in the frontline players who strengthen the squad.’

Ten Hag described Kane as a ?clever player? in the build up to United’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
