Graeme Souness has labelled Harry Kane ?weak? and ?embarrassing? following an interview reflecting on Tottenham?s difficult season.

Spurs were thrashed 6-1 by Newcastle United last Sunday, five goals down inside 21 minutes with Cristian Stellini relieved of his role as interim boss the following day.

Tottenham found themselves two goals down at half-time against Manchester United on Thursday but rallied in the second-half with Ryan Mason?s side recovering to secure a 2-2 draw in north London.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Sunday?s clash with Liverpool, Kane insisted his side had recovered a bit of pride with that second-half performance as he reflected on a tumultuous season for the club.
Souness was not convinced by the interview, however, suggesting it was a PR exercise where Kane ?knew what questions were coming and how he was going to answer them?.

And in his damming assessment of Kane and his Spurs teammates, the former Liverpool midfielder insisted the group have ?let down themselves and their families down?.

He told Sky Sports: ?I will be polite as I possibly can. When you are a professional footballer player, passion should be with you all the time, desire should be with you all the time. It is not a light switch you flick on and off.
