David Ornstein says upcoming Tottenham hire will not be a ‘huge name’
Tottenham Hotspur could be set to appoint a new Director of Football soon, but don’t expect it to be a huge name. Apparently, the club is looking for a ‘low-key’ addition to the current structure.
There appears to be a very clear change of direction occurring for Tottenham right now. With new manager Ange Postecoglou impressing in his early days, things are going pretty well for the North London club, too.
Postecoglou can’t do it all on his own, however, and will now have help from above in the form of his new Chief Football Officer, Scott Mun.
The long-awaited arrival of the Australian will help fill the void left by former Director of Football Fabio Paratici. The Italian had to leave his post in April after being found guilty of involvement in Juventus’ financial scandal. It seems Daniel Levy still wants to tweak and add to the hierarchy at Spurs, and we could see an appointment of an official Director of Football in the near future.

In a Q+A held by The Athletic‘s David Ornstein, the topic of Spurs’ plans came up and the journalist was able to shed some light on the situation.
He said: “I’m told Spurs have a plan in place. I don’t have a name but the last I heard the appointment is expected to be relatively low-key ? a bit like Postecoglou ? rather than a huge name.Â
