Journalist says Dutchman ‘very seriously’ considered joining Tottenham

Journalist Sjoerd Mossou has stated that Arne Slot seriously considered becoming Tottenham’s head coach last summer and suggested that the Feyenoord boss might be regretting his decision to stay at Rotterdam.
Slot’s stock was very high last summer after he led Feyenoord to a historic Eredivisie title triumph last season and Tottenham came knocking on his door.
At one point, it seemed as if the 45-year-old was nailed on to become the next Tottenham head coach, with reports indicating that Feyenoord were resigned to losing their boss to the Premier League side (Football Insider).

Ange Postecoglou turned out to be the right choice
Spurs then decided to appoint Ange Postecoglou and the decision has been vindicated, with the Australian transforming the team’s style of play and quickly becoming a fan favourite.
It remains to be seen if Slot will get offered such a big job anytime soon as Feyenoord look unlikely to repeat the heroics of last season, with PSV Eindhoven having a 10-point lead at the top of Eredivisie standings.
Mossou believes that the Dutch coach stayed since he believed that the De Kuip hierarchy would back him with big signings, which has not materialised.
