Lucas Moura has described Tottenham’s acquisition of James Maddison as a ‘great signing’ on social media.
Maddison had just one year left on his contract with Leicester and following the Foxes’ relegation from the top flight, it was always clear that the attacking midfielder was going to depart the King Power Stadium this summer.

Reports had indicated just days after Ange Postecoglou’s arrival at Tottenham that the 26-year-old had been identified by the Australian as a ‘priority target’ (Telegraph). Not only have Spurs managed to deliver the signing before the start of pre-season but they have reportedly paid just £40m for the player (Guardian), a far cry from the £60m that Leicester were reportedly demanding (Evening Standard).
Maddison will add creativity to a midfield that had become too workmanlike under Antonio Conte, and Spurs fans will be hoping that the England international will be able to take his game to a new level in N17.
