Manager predicts big things for one midfielder despite leaving Spurs in 2023

Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca believes that Harry Winks is still good enough to play for England.
It was only a few years ago that Winks was looked at as Tottenham and England’s next big midfield hope, with the centre-mid playing a key role in Spurs’ progression to the Champions League final in 2019.
However, the 27-year-old subsequently endured some difficult years, finding it hard to get game time following Mauricio Pochettino’s exit from the North London club while also struggling to remain fit.
The midfielder shows glimpses of his old self during the second half of his loan spell at Sampdoria last season, which convinced Leicester to pay £10m for his services in the summer.
That has proven to be an inspired decision by the Foxes as Winks has dominated the Championship so far and has been one of the main reasons why they currently sit at the top of the table. Maresca believes that the former Tottenham man, who has won 10 caps for England, is good enough to earn a recall to the Three Lions set-up.
