Forced to leave Bristol City in January as the club didn?t want him to start to avoid triggering a clause in his contract, Andreas Weimann was sent on loan to West Bromwich Albion.
There, the Austrian has found a happy place where he can play football as much as possible, which has led him to be called up to the national team by Ralf Rangnick.
The forward gave an interview to Kicker in his homeland, where he discussed various topics, including his move to West Brom, which will see him stay at the Hawthorns until the end of the season.
Once that deal runs out, he won?t even return to Bristol City, as his contract there expires in the summer, likely making him a free agent at the same time as the Euros.
Asked whether he has thought about his future beyond West Brom, he replied: ?No, because I still have some important games ahead of me with West Brom, and I?m pursuing a big goal with them. There?s still a lot at stake. I?m free in the summer, but now I?m fully focused on my task at West Bromwich, to get into the playoffs and maybe even get promoted. ?If it foes well, they might offer me a contract and if not, it still doesn?t look too bad that I might end up with another team that?s playing for promotion again. I have no stress or pressure. I?m enjoying the fact that we?re playing for something now and then we?ll see in the summer.?
